History Of Anglia Heating
The Company was founded circa 1960 by local builders Hugh R Wilkins & Sons Ltd and started in a converted terrace house in West Pottergate, Norwich.
The present owner, Barry Lambert, was employed by Anglia Heating in 1967 as a trainee contracts engineer and remained with them until 1972. During that period Anglia Heating moved to what is now the Airport Industrial Estate and were the first company to move into the old RAF Horsham St Faiths buildings following the military closure.
As with all companies various changes occurred over the years culminating with Frank Chapman, an employee of Anglia Heating from day one and an engineer during Barry's tenure, acquired the company and traded as Anglia Heating (1984) Ltd.
Barry and Frank always kept in contact even though they had gone their separate ways and when Frank retired in 1996 he sold the company to Barry and it became part of his then ventilation company based at Salhouse and was registered again as Anglia Heating Ltd.
In 2001 Tim Wildman was employed by Barry as Anglia Heating`s Manager and during January 2004 Barry and his then business partner parted company. Barry then concentrated on Anglia Heating as a sole venture with Sally, his wife, building on the success of the commercial plumbing & heating business generated by Tim, now a Director, and integrating his skills and experience in the ventilation trade to develop the company further.
To reflect the ventilation aspect a trading name "Anglia H&V Services" was introduced from 2004 to 2008 but since the employment of Chris Eve, bringing the air conditioning services in house, it was decided to revert back to the registered name of Anglia Heating Ltd and the company logo was re-designed accordingly.
Within a year Anglia Heating has grown in size and now operates from new larger premises on Drayton Business Park and has employed a further person, Peter Palgrave, with 30 years experience in ventilation to add to our existing design and contracting skills.
